2018 Renovation - "fitly framed together"
In 2018, we completed a major renovation project at the church. The church was built around 1940, and the old building needed some lifting and strengthening. The roof was sagging, and the inside tongue-and-groove ceiling was showing its age with broken pieces, cracks and gaps, and several areas of waviness where the ceiling joists weren't as straight as they used to be. First, we had to replace the old 2x6 ceiling joists with new 2x12s. Then, we had to lift the rafters and hold them in place. Then, we re-wired with new recessed lighting, set boxes for new ceiling fans, and installed new tongue-and-groove ceiling. Finally, we painted the walls, replaced the carpet, and completely renovated the foyer and restrooms. We preserved some of the original siding and used in the foyer. We think it looks awesome, and we invite you to come check it out in person.
We added pictures as we completed various stages. Simply click the pictures to the right to start the slide show.
Our theme verses for this venture came from Ephesians 2. The goal of this undertaking was twofold: to strengthen and update our place of worship, and to develop and strengthen the church who meets there.
Ephesians 2:19 (KJV) Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
